Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates the tool. That company processes the request and supplies its results. Coffee County Criminal History does not keep or log those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, server and analytics systems may record basic technical information about that visit:

- IP address assigned to the device
- Pages viewed during the visit
- Referring website, when one is available

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Coffee County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general access information for records held by the Coffee County Sheriff, the Elba and Enterprise court divisions, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency CJIS, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal-history file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, not this policy, govern information submitted to those tools. Each partner controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Coffee County Sheriff, Alabama courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy terms apply. Read them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:

Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights based on where a visitor lives. In Alabama, the Open Records Act, principally Alabama Code §§36-12-40 through 36-12-45, governs public writings held by government bodies, while §41-9-601 limits false-pretense acquisition and unauthorized disclosure of criminal-offender information. Those laws do not convert this private website into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, visitors may:

- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
