1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site that operates independently of every public office. It does not store official records, retrieve government files, run an official check, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify the Coffee County Sheriff, the Elba and Enterprise court divisions, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency CJIS, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry as record sources, and to provide access to outside tools that may assist lawful research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on the following rules. You will not:

• Use an automated scraper, bot, or similar tool against website pages
• Violate federal, Alabama, or local law through use of the website
• Attempt to enter systems or data without authorization
• Use content to stalk, threaten, or harass a person
• Rely on content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
• Interfere with website speed, availability, or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked service may not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Alabama Code §15-20A-8 specifically requires a warning against criminal misuse of Alabama Sex Offender Registry information. Registry data supports lawful public-safety awareness. It does not authorize vigilante conduct, blacklisting, or discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create a credit report, consumer report, or background check. Our partners are not presented as services for applicant screening, rental review, insurance pricing, or credit decisions. You agree that website or linked-tool information will not be used to:

• Evaluate credit or calculate an insurance premium
• Screen a housing or rental applicant
• Make a hiring or termination decision
• Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
• Carry out another action regulated by the FCRA

A legally permitted official check must be obtained through Alabama Law Enforcement Agency CJIS or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Coffee County charge, conviction, warrant, or Alabama expungement law applies to a particular person. Ask a licensed Alabama attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are provided "as is." No warranty is made that:

• A partner result will be complete or correctly matched
• Information will always be current, accurate, and complete
• Website access will remain uninterrupted

Website text, code, graphics, and logos belong to Coffee County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, modified, distributed, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damage arising from website use, including reliance on content or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, actions, or demands caused by your website use or breach of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Alabama law governs these terms. A legal dispute tied to use of this website must be brought in a court located in Alabama. Alabama Code §§36-12-40 through 36-12-45 govern public writings held by government bodies, and §41-9-601 addresses false-pretense acquisition or unauthorized disclosure of criminal-offender information. Those provisions do not make this private site a government custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or terminate website access at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be adjusted only as needed to make it enforceable.
